Now that we’ve got that out of the way - some thoughts on gifting household items. Household gifts are more specifically interest-based gifts (IMO). So much of our lives and hobbies play out in our homes–cooking, working in the yard, hosting, resting. So, my rec would be to think of how people on your list spend their time in their homes, and gift towards that. I’ve tried to find things that would add a little oomph to day-to-day activities - i.e. a beautiful water hose that will never kink. I think gifting something with a clear purpose is the move for this category- so I look for useful things vs a knick-knack or decor item.

Let’s do it –
Stackable, Enamel Tumblers - Set of 4, $52
Juice cups! Wine glasses! Go wild and throw in the matching napkins.
Green Wine Glasses ($46 each) and Fish plate ($17.75) from Syrax
The wine glasses are a little pricier, but so beautiful. I think a pair of nice glasses makes a great gift for a couple, it feels very sweet to me. This fish plate would be perfect for someone who hosts often and puts out little snacks.
Ceramic Tea Pot ($99.95) and Lambswool Hot Water Bottle Cover ($61)
Two very cozy gifts. (Also - I’ve searched far and wide for the best-looking teapot, this is it). Also - the hot water bottle is made to go in your bed to keep you warm. (JIC that wasn’t clear)
Old Bay Oval Platter ($50)
This is the perfect gift for someone - I don’t know who they are, but you might! My notes - Golden Rabbit makes amazing enamelware, and I want this for serving a big ole roast chicken or oysters.
Swedish Garden Hose ($70, green colorway is on sale) and Pruning Shears ($62)
This non-kinking garden hose is one of my favorite things on this list. I think this would be a perfect gift for a parent or anyone who lovingly waters their plants every evening. Similarly, these pruning shears would be a wonderful upgrade.
Watering Can + Mister ($29) and Plant Brush ($54)
Some love for the house plant crowd - I like this combo can + mister and think this dual-sided plant brush is genius (especially if they have larger plants)
Japanese Kenzan ($20) and Ceramic Flower Frog ($42)
Ikebana is a very meditative style of Japanese flower arranging - either of these tools will give them what they need to try it out. The kenzan can be placed in the bottom of most bowls (or on a plate) to make a vase. Throw in this book to complete the set.
Moss Incense Cones ($16) and a Paper Incense Gift Set ($24)
Keeping with a meditative theme - we use incense at home all the time. These paper incense leaves feel very special and would make a beautiful gift.
Italian Tablecloth ($360)
The Italians did it best!
Cake Server ($60) and Plant Trellis ($36)
The sexiest cake server money can buy - and this plant trellis comes in three great designs.
Sabre Serving Set ($66)
I think if you host a lot, you can’t have too much servingware. This set from Sabre comes in a lot of colors and will someday be inherited by their favorite child.
Fun Bathrobe ($138) and Classic PJ Set ($70)
I think of these as home goods. I don’t know why - but I think if you are going to gift a bathrobe you should make it a very fun one. And J Crew makes great PJs that are a bit cheaper than other nice PJs out there.
Stacked Mixing Bowls ($92) and a Very Cute Colander ($71)
On paper these are not the most exciting gifts - BUT Ellen and I registered for both of these and I love them. I use the mixing bowls every day and the colander every other. Also! This colander comes in a very nice gift box.
Fabric Refresh Kit ($89)
I think this is a very useful gift - includes a fabric shaver, lint roller, and fabric spray.
Striped Placemats ($54)
Go for the mixed set - live on the edge! Matching napkins are also available.
Cookware Tote ($64)
For the potluckers
Table Brush and Pan ($15)
I think this is a very smart gift - especially for someone who is on the neat side. They can use this to sweep crumbs from their countertops or table. Plus the magnetic brush attaches itself snugly inside the dustpan for safekeeping.
Berkey Water System ($327)
Ellen and I are FREAKS for our Berkey filter. This is obviously a higher-budget gift - but if you have the budget and are looking for a gift for the wellness guru, look no further. Also - I think the travel size is perfect for a 2-person home.
Ok, that’s a wrap! If you end up gifting something from this list - let me know! I’d love to hear.
The next guide will come out in 3-5 days. Again, if you liked this, share with a friend!
Until then!
Phillip
The Berkey is everything!!! I have become a water snob because of it!
I want one of everything! The Italian tablecloth is too great. Thanks for curating! Can’t wait for the next list...
